Online Estate Auctions in Southeastern Virginia

We handle the whole sale for you, from first visit to final check, in about 4 to 5 weeks.

1. Free consultation. Kevin looks at the items or the home and explains what will sell online.
2. Photos and catalog. We take several photos of every item and write a detailed description, usually within 7 to 8 business days.
3. Advertising. Your auction is listed on HiBid, estatesales.net, estatesales.com, gotoauction.com, auctionzip.com and auctionguy.com, shared on social media, and emailed to more than 20,000 buyers.
4. Online bidding. Most auctions run 7 to 14 days, usually Tuesday to Tuesday or Wednesday to Wednesday. In-person previews are available by appointment.
5. Pickup or shipping. Winning bidders pick up at the seller’s location under our supervision, or ship through Shipping Saint.
6. Clean-out. Once pickup is complete, we quote a clean-out for whatever is left.
7. You get paid. We mail you a check 5 to 7 days after the auction closes, minus our commission.

Within an hour of an auction closing, every winning bidder gets an email from Shipping Saint, our pickup and shipping partner. Use that email to choose a pickup time or request shipping.

PICKUP:

• Pickup is by appointment, usually on the Friday and Saturday after the auction closes.
•  You pick up at the seller’s location in Southeastern Virginia, with our staff on site. To protect the family’s privacy, the pickup address is shared only after you book your time through Shipping Saint. 
• Missed pickups cost $10 per lot for small items and $100 per lot for furniture and large items.
• Items not collected are considered abandoned.

Shipping:

• Only items marked “Shipping Available” can ship.
• Shipping is not free: a $5 minimum packing fee, plus boxes and materials, plus postage based on size and weight.
• You’ll get a shipping invoice by email and text within two weeks of the auction closing.. 

We never quote a clean-out until the auction is over and pickup is complete, so you never pay to clear items that could have sold. Some companies quote a clean-out up front and earn their money hauling things away. We earn ours by selling your items, so we work to sell as much as possible first. In 2025, 91% of the items we listed sold.

• Unsold lots get another chance. During pickup, we sell leftover items one by one to buyers on site, who often spot something they missed online.
• Small leftovers are free. When only a few bags of trash remain, we dispose of them at no charge.
• You choose what happens to the rest. Keep any unsold items, have us sell them, or ask for a clean-out quote. Every estate is handled case by case.
